SICK

Peter has been sick the past two days. Bad cough and congestion. He's felt pretty yucky, but you sure wouldn't know it looking at these happy pics!

7 MONTHS
7 months!
Peter is growing up so fast. He is sitting up like a champ, will most likely be crawling pretty soon, and is finally sleeping through the night!! (The past couple weeks he has pretty much slept 7:30 pm to 7:30 am with barely a peep. His parents feel human again!!) Peter is also very social and smiles at EVERYONE...this big, open, loving smile that just screams, "Be my friend!" "I love you!" He is just the most perfect baby boy! We love him so so much.

EXERSAUCER

Some friends loaned us their baby exersaucer, and Peter loves it! I let him play outside in it today so that he was out of earshot while I vacuumed (he is really scared of the noise).

VISIT FROM GRANDMA

Grandma Sonia is visiting because Uncle Brian is moving to the Bay Area and she came up to help him get settled.
We got to visit with them today. Mommy and Daddy even got to see and movie by themselves while Grandma and Aunt Kelly watched you!

LAKE WALK

We had a nice evening down by Lake Merritt. We got some tacos, browsed Waldon Pond Bookstore, and walked down near the lake to see the lights and water. Peter enjoyed himself the whole time, but liked looking at the lake and being held by his Dad the best.

MOTHER'S DAY

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Today was so wonderful. I spoke in church and it went pretty well, Erik showered me with love, attention, and some lovely gifts (including a gift certificate for a massage!!), we got to have some nice conversation with our moms, and enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends. Most importantly, Peter was there for all of it. He even took a great nap today as special a gift to Mommy!
Here are a couple pics of the two of us in front of church, enjoying the fresh air:

Today Peter and I went to visit A Great Good Place for Books; the store I used to work at. He had a lot of fun looking at the ceiling fans, smiling at some new friends, and getting LOTS of great books from Kathleen (store owner and former boss). Thanks Kathleen!

TEETHING

Peter is teething again, and feeling quite a bit sicker than last time. Very cranky and uncomfortable, and running a low grade fever. In an effort to cheer the little guy up, Erik bought him a balloon at the grocery. He loves it of course, and it does seem to make him pretty happy

GRASS

While waiting for the oil to get changed in one of our cars, Peter and I took a nice walk, met up with a friend, and enjoyed sitting in a grassy church courtyard in the sun. Glad Peter isn't afraid of grass like his Mommy was as a little girl!

A NEW ROOM

In yet another effort to try to get some sleep, we have started putting Peter's crib in the library for the night (instead of in our room, where he has always slept). It has helped a lot, actually. We don't hear his every little movement and sound, so we sleep a little better. It has also been so nice to have our own room back.
Here is Peter, a little bit after he woke up this morning, happy as can be:

OUT TO EAT

Ok, so this photo is actually from yesterday (Saturday). Sorry! We went out for Indian food and Peter came along. He did pretty good and had fun getting to know our waitress. The food was sooo good. Peter sure has a lot to look forward to when it comes to food in the Bay Area!

WINDOW

Peter really loves looking out the front window. He gets to watch cars drive by, look at the flowers and plants in the yard, and today he even saw a hummingbird! He is starting to stand by himself, by propping himself up against the back of the couch.

BALLOON

Peter has lately become obsessed with the shiny mylar helium balloons at the grocery store. Tonight we were surprised to see him figure out, all by himself, how to bring it down toward himself, pulling the ribbon hand-over-hand. We could see in his face it was a total "aha" moment for him & he loved it!
