NAPA

We drove up to Napa, which was a bit of a mistake since it ended up being about 100 degrees!  Ugg...yuck!  Of course, Peter was a trooper for the whole thing...and we did have some fun...Hess Collection, Gott's Roadside, extra time with Papa, and lots of hugs and smiles from family :)

GRANDMA

KIRBY COVE

We had a family cookout at Kirby Cove tonight.  Despite not getting his usual naps all week, Peter has been in a great mood and has enjoyed all of the adventures he has been having with the Beasleys.  What a good baby!

AQUARIUM

We got to visit the aquarium in Monterey today!  Peter LOVED watching the fish and spending time with so much family :)

GRANDPA!

YAY!!  Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Jenna got here today!  Peter was sooo excited to see them.  Here he is spending some time on Grandpa's lap:

SANTA CRUZ

9 months!!

Peter and I went to Santa Cruz with some friends today.  He LOVED it.  I wish that he was big enough to have gone on some of the rides at the Boardwalk...maybe next time.  But he still had a great time looking at all the people and playing in the ocean.  Little Water Bug!

CLAPPING

Peter has started clapping, and he loves doing it.  We say, "Yaayyy Peter!" and he claps :)

DARLING BOY

Peter has started crawling a bit the past few days, and we finally got a video of it!  Way to go Peter!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!

We had a pretty difficult time trying to get Peter to hold a birthday greeting for his grandma :)  Got this funny photo collage out of it!  Happy Birthday, Grandma Joyce!

FLEA MARKET

We went to a flea market with Aunt Janelle today.  It was a rare hot day and Peter seemed to be overheating, so we took a break in the shade and played with his new toy I found at the market.

FLYING

Peter LOVES to be thrown up in the air (and caught, of course) by his Pappa.

DANCING

When certain music plays, Peter starts to "dance" to the beat by shaking his head back and forth.  He first did this on the 4th of July when Erik and I sang to him a patriotic song.  It was so cute to see it this first time!  He does it a lot now, but I still just about die from cuteness every time I see it.

BEACH

We stopped by the beach near the Berkeley Marina on the way home.  Peter loved listening to the waves and even shook his head to the beat of them :)

BOUNCER

I took Peter to Babies R Us to play in the different bouncers, just for fun.  He had such a good time!

OUT TO EAT

We went out to eat tonight at a nice Thai restaurant in our neighborhood.  Peter sat like a perfect gentleman in his high chair and enjoyed his baby food and people watching, while we were able to have a nice dinner date.

OVERALLS

Peter received some classic overalls at my baby shower, and at the time they looked SO big that we thought for sure he would have to be at least 2 years old before he could fit into them...  Well, our estimations were a bit off, because we tried them on today and they fit great!  Reminded me of what Grandpa Zollinger wore working out on the farm.

SATURDAY

We got to see Aunt Kelly a lot this week :)  She came to see us today, and it was so fun!  We got some Mexican food and Peter ate lots of refried beans and avocado.  As usual, he tried to get the attention of every single person in the restaurant by yelling at them till they looked over and then smiling really big.  I love how social he is!

CHILLY SUMMER DAY

8 months, 17 days

We have been having some warm weather lately, but today was cold!  I think it only got up to 60 degrees.  We haven't seen Peter in his warm jacket for a long time...looks pretty cute!  (Thanks, Grandma Beasley!)

COUSINS

We drove out to visit Kelly and Christian today.  Peter still isn't quite old enough to play with his big cousin, but hopefully soon they will be best buddies.  AND, since Kelly is pregnant with another boy, it won't be long before Peter gets to be a "big" cousin.  So happy to live close to some wonderful family!

TOYS?

Peter's favorite toy is anything new....anything he has never seen before.  I have to get creative sometimes.  Today, I entertained him for a looong time by pulling things out of the bathroom cabinet for him to investigate. 

PEEK A BOO

SWIMMING

Today we took Peter to the pool at Kelly's house for his first time swimming!  The water was pretty cold, but Peter only cried for a second before adjusting to the temperature and having a great time.  We love how adventurous and adaptable he is as a baby, and we hope this will continue to be part of his personality as he grows older.

EVENING WALK

Tonight we took Peter up the the Johnson's ranch in the Orinda Hills.  It is a very special place, and it was so nice to bring Peter there.

TRUCK

Peter was ultra grumpy today for some reason :(  We spent almost the entire day walking around or playing in the park because he was NOT happy being at home.  One park had lots of toys to play with...Peter really loved the wheels on the dump truck.  I also loved the wheels on the dump truck because it distracted him and made him forget he was so sad.

CATCH

NEW TOY

The picture from today is kind of boring..but here is Peter having fun with his new toy...the very classic Fisher Price stacking rings.  I think that he loves them as much as I did :)  He likes to take all of the rings off and then play (roughly!) with the base.

HAPPY 4TH

We had a wonderful 4th of July this year because we got to spend it with Peter and lots of family.  The day started out with breakfast over at our place..we invited Jordan, Danielle, Janelle, and Brian.  Peter loved having everyone around.  After eating tons of French Toast, we went to the park and played some basketball, tennis, and petanque.  Again, Peter loved the action!  After a nap, we drove out to Kelly's for a BBQ.  We talked and laughed and enjoyed the weather.  It was great!  I think Peter loved his first 4th of July!
