OFF TO INDIANA

Peter and I flew to Indiana today to spend 2 WEEKS with my family.  Erik is coming later in the week, but we were really lucky today because Jordan was on our same flight.  I was terrified Peter would do awful, but he did pretty good!  Squirmy as all get out, but didn't cry much and held it together.

He even made a little friend at the airport in Oakland.  It was such a funny coincidence...they were also traveling to Bloomington!

PARTY TIME

We went to a really fun holiday party this evening.  There were like, a million kids there.  Peter was in heaven seeing all of them and playing in the toy room.  It was so cute...they had all the children pick a manger scene character to dress up as and they read the scriptures as the kids tried to act it out.  It was so sweet.  Peter was going to be a shepard, but he wouldn't keep is costume on :)

Like I mentioned earlier, Peter has been constantly crawling into his pushcart and getting stuck inside, then crying until and pull him out, and then repeating this over and over again ALL DAY.

Peter has really been enjoying the Raffi Christmas Album (one I really loved as a kid too!)  I tried to catch him dancing to it today, but of course, he stopped as soon as I got the camera out :)  Still, a pretty cute video:

Erik had a pop-up shop today in SF.  Peter and I, along with my friend, Abby, and her two kids went in to check it out.  Peter had so much fun with the company of two other boys.  It was so cute to see them all in one row in their carseats on the drive in.

We had a nice day.... hanging out under the redwoods near the river...walking on the beach, looking out onto the Pacific Ocean.  I hope Peter enjoyed himself and had some sense of the beauty that surrounded us today.

BIG SUR

Erik met a couple who owns a campground down in Big Sur.  They invited us to stay (for free!) in one of their cabins, so Erik took an extra day off work and we drove down today.  Peter did great in the car and was a total angel....looking at his books and smiling every single time we looked back at him.  It was a beautiful drive down, but I didn't get many pictures.  The cabin was SUPER nice, though Peter seemed a little scared when we first walked inside!  He calmed down quickly though, and really enjoyed the evening playing with toys and exploring.  ALSO, he slept GREAT.  SUCH a relief since we have a big trip planned to Indiana in a couple weeks.

BABYSAT

Erik and I went to a performance of A Christmas Carol tonight in SF.  We have gone every year (except last year since Peter wasn't even two months old), and it is a tradition we so look forward to.  We had a great time and Peter had a great time being babysat by Jordan and Danielle.

Tonight we did our annual Go to Wendy's for Dinner / Buy the Christmas Tree tradition.  Peter enjoyed eating everything we ordered.  Here he is getting very excited because Erik is playing peek a boo with him from across the restaurant :)

We had some cute kiddos over today for an hour or so while their mom was at a doctor's appointment.  Peter had a blast with the big kids, Eleanor and Lewis :)

OWL FRIENDS

Peter loves making his owl animals talk to each other.  Today he really got into putting them up in the windowsill while he did so.  It was sooo cute.

NEW HAIRCUT AND A RIDE

We gave Peter a haircut, which you can kind of see in this pic.  Also, I gave him a ride in his toy cart, which he was very happy about.

NEW FRIEND

We visited our friend at her art studio today and she brought her little boy.  Peter had a blast playing with his new friend, Roman.

I wish I had gotten some better pictures of the two of them playing together (Roman was so sweet to Peter), but here they are separately (looking very cute indeed).

Peter is also wearing the sweater I knit for him when he was in my tummy.  He is finally big enough for it!

I can't believe I didn't take any photos at Thanksgiving.  I think I was too busy enjoying myself to take out my camera :)  We had a great day...relaxing in the morning, taking a walk in the afternoon, and off to dinner in the early evening.  We feasted at our friends, The Shumways, along with some other friends from church.  Peter really enjoyed playing with the toddler that was there.  He was kind of wild the whole time though.  Celebrating a holiday with a baby sure isn't as relaxing as celebrating without! :)

We sure are GRATEFUL for this guy though.  Here he is, in one moment of relative peace, in dad's lap in front of the fire:

GREEN GULCH

We took a walk at one of our favorite places in the bay area; Green Gulch.  It was very overcast, which made everything look 20 times greener and more lush than usual.  It was fun, but cold, and we forgot a heavy blanket for Peter.  Here he is using his Ergo carrier as a makeshift shied against the cold (worked pretty well):

Peter woke up tonight very upset so we decided to get him up for awhile.  He enjoyed a snack of his favorite food, grapes, and then went back to bed.

BATH TIME

Peter is a huge fan of the bath.  He screams for joy when we start filling the tub and he knows he is about to get in.  He stands up on his own with no support in the water, but not anywhere else....so funny.  His favorite toy is his rubber ducky; he has to be holding it the whole time or he gets very upset.

NEW COUSIN

Today Kelly had her baby!  We went to the hospital to see them this morning...he is such a beautiful baby (no name yet)!  We can't wait for Peter to get to know his new cousin.
