CATCH UP

20 months, 27 days

It's been a bit since I posted last, but we've been able to do some fun things with Peter.  Here are a few photos:

We took a family day trip to Sausalito and had fun walking to the Point Bonita Lighthouse (built in 1855).  Peter was a little overwhelmed at first, but ended up really enjoying looking down at the water and walking down the bridge to the lighthouse.

We also visited the Bay Area Discovery Museum, which is one of Peter's favorite places.  These frogs were fun; if you rubbed the stick along their backs, it sounded like croaking.

Peter and me playing in another area of the museum, where there is lots of water (clearly, Peter's favorite spot):

Trying to impress another kid at the library by showing them the farm animals:

Right before Peter got a treat.  He was very excited:

NEW PARK

20 months, 16 days

We found a new park that is only a couple blocks from Erik's shop, so we go quite often now.  Peter loves it because it has a little stream that runs next to it.  He loves to watch the water, gather rocks, and throw things in.

BUCKET

20 months, 13 days

We spent the morning at a park in Berkeley.  Peter found this bucket right when we got there and carried it around the whole time.  One cute thing:  Peter fell down and hurt his knee awhile back.  He would point to it and we would say "Oh no!  Peter hurt his knee!"  Now, whenever Peter hurts himself, he calls it a "knee"  He has a little cut on his hand, and he constantly points to it, saying, "Knee, knee!"

TESTING

20 months, 10 days

We went to Ikea today (pretty much Peter's favorite place on Earth).  They had free kids' meals for the holiday weekend, so we got some grub.  Peter ate all of his and part of mine!  We played with the toys on display too, though Peter's favorite part today was testing out all of the beds.  Which one do you think was his favorite?

HAPPY 4TH!

20 months, 8 days

Today we really enjoyed the holiday.  We spent the day at Kelly's place in San Ramon (where it reached 103 degrees!).  We had an early lunch of BBQ ribs, watermelon, chips and dip, baked beans, and macaroni salad.  Brownies for dessert.  So American!  The rest of the day we played games and swam at the pool.  Peter had the best time I have ever seen him have while we were at the pool.  He fearlessly jumped into the water into Daddy's arms over and over.  (Even took a running start a couple times).  He also enjoyed riding on our backs, splashing with his hands, and walking around in the very shallow kiddie pool.  He was smiling and laughing sooo much.  I really wish there had been some way to take some video or pictures, because it was so special to see.  Oh well; here are a few other ones of our All-American Boy:

SANTA CRUZ

20 months, 6 days

We went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk today with some friends.  Peter got to ride on some carnival rides for the first time.  It was so fun to see!  He was having a blast pretending to drive the boats and cars and waving at everyone as he went by.  Whenever I would take him off of the ride, he would turn around and run to get back on.  It was so great to see him have such a good time!  I really didn't get any good pictures, and only took one not so good video (it doesn't really show him doing much), but you can see it by clicking on the photo below:

AT THE LAKE

20 months, 5 days

We went to the lake today.  Peter was hesitant at first, but eventually enjoyed playing in the shallow water, chasing ducks, and chugging some good ol' Coke.
